The HFH U18's entered a new chapter in their history when they played their first league fixture in the Gillette Conference Youth League - Summer 2011. Drawn at home to West Bank Bears, the Hornets showed a much superior team performance to that of the struggling WBB team.

Although going into an early 04 – 16 lead, the Hornets allowed the big West Cumbrian side to claw their way back to a 16 – 16 a piece level score line by half time.

In atrocious weather conditions of none stop rain, the HFH U18's ground out a mucky win against a plucky and physical Rylands side. It has been many, many weeks since the HFH U18's have played a game and the rustiness of not playing together and lack of match fitness was clearly evident to see.
This fixture should put the HFH U18's in good stead for next weeks home fixture to Leigh East.

INCE ROSE BRIDGE (U18's) verses HALTON FARNWORTH HORNETS (U18's)
This was an emphatic victory by the Hornets over a confident IRB outfit.
Slim on numbers due to injuries (not playing) and injuries (playing) and other commitments, the HFH U18's once again travelled the road to IRB for what they knew would be a very tough and physical encounter. With GB players now returned to the ranks of the IRB side, the less than full strength Hornets team had a mountain to climb. But when the challenge is laid down, the HFH U18's players certainly rise to the occasion, and this game against IRB was no exception.
With the odds stacked against them, the HFH U18's produced one of their best TEAM performances this season, and what a time to deliver the goods!
HFH U18's Head Coach Neil Meadows was full of praise for each and every individual player who performed wonders on the pitch. Collectively, it was the best TEAM game he has witnessed for a long time.
This standard of team performance needs to maintain its consistency to ensure the Hornets make it through to a top three final league position, and a crack at the play-offs against Yorkshire opposition.
