HFH U7's secured a 08 - 04 home win over the previously unbeaten Hindley ARLFC in what was a fine example of controlled aggression.
The Hornets got off to their usual sluggish start and gifted two early tries to the Wigan team. This shocked the Hornets into action with Liam Sherlock ('Top Tackler') and Peter Scott both leading the team in attack scoring a try each to close the gap to 02 - 03 in favour of Hindley at half time.
The second half introduction of Jesse Brennan and Sonny McLean injected new spark into the Hornets, wth Sonny scoring with his very first touch on a 40m run through and around the Hindley defence. Further quick tries from the tireless Sherlock again and Zac Marsden extended the scoreline before 'Man of the Match', Jesse Brennan, got hold of the ball and broke through a tough defensive line to score his first ever try for the Hornets.

HFH U7's played their toughest game of the season against a very physical Ince Rose Bridge team.
The Hornets appeared to stand off the bigger Ince team in the early stages allowing IRB to score until Finnlay Hill ran fearlessly into the Wigan team with his first drive. Thomas Hussey was first on the score sheet for the Hornets for the second week running with a typical break and finish.
Ellis Mahar, Sonny Doyle and Alfie Graham tackled superbly throughout the first half, and Skipper Peter Scott ('Top Tackler') scored with the final play of the first half bringing the Hornets to within a point of IRB.
The second half started better for the Hornets with George Winkles ('Coaches Award') leading from the front taking the ball up. The uncompromising 'Man of the Match' Liam Sherlock again scored two tries from acting half back and went straight
through the biggest boys on the pitch for both his tries.
It was end to end stuff as the Hornets boys finally got to grips with the much bigger Ince team. Thomas Hussey again scored with a weaving run through a tiring defence. In the end time ran out for the team who threw everything at a very good Ince team but could not find a way to equalise the score.

HFH U7's were at home and faced their toughest game of the year against Thatto Heath but were full of confidence having run Ince Rose Bridge close last week.
Thatto Heath started the stronger of the two sides and the Hornets had to work hard in the first set defending eight tackles!
Straight from the off, the Hornets were on the back foot against a much bigger Thatto team.
'Man of the Match' Finnlay Hill, Ellis Maher and 'Top Tackler' Liam Sherlock were working overtime to repel a St Helens team who took a 00 - 04 lead.
In the closing seconds of the half, Liam Sherlock managed to scoot down the blind side in typical fashion to drag the Hornets back into the game.
Trailing 01 - 04 at the start of the second half, the Hornets started well.
The introduction of Thomas Hussey, Zac Marsden and Ruben Owen ('Coaches Award') sparked some life into the Hornets team. Finnlay Hill led from the front for the second week running and never took a backward step.
A sideways run from Ryan Moran followed by a long pass backwards, led to the ball being thrown through 3 pairs of hands before Peter Scott was held up 5 yards short of the line.
Further penetrating runs from Joe Finney, Jessie Brennan and the energetic Finnlay Hill all came to nothing but the U7's will take heart from their second half performance having allowed Thatto to breach their line only once in the second half,

In their final game of the season, the HFH U7's certainly saved their best performance for last in their away game at Wigan St Judes.
From the start Finnlay Hill was magnificent and took the game to the bigger Wigan team. He was supported throughout by Joe Bradley, Liam Sherlock and the ever reliable Sonny Doyle.
Finnlay Hill scored the first try with a trademark weaving run to the line.
Hornets were matched by St Judes with each set and further tries from skipper Peter Scott and the outstanding Zac Marsden meant the Hornets went into half time 05 - 03 down.
After a half time reshuffle the Hornets came out with all guns blazing in what was described by some St Judes supporters as "The best defensive effort seen from an U7's team",
The middle of the park was sewn up by the outstanding defensive unit of Jack Craig, Ellis Maher, ('Top Tackler') Liam Sherlock and Finnlay Hill.
The Hornets matched the Judes attack and scored some great long range tries through Zac Marsden (3 tries) and Peter Scott (2 tries).
The Hornets were severely tested out wide but stopped everything that was thrown at them with Tom Fallon, Zac Marsden and George Corcoran ('Coaches Award)' making countless tackles for the team.

After the downpour last week it was good for the Hornets to travel to an extra fixture against Latchford this weekend in the sunshine! Spirits where high within the team for a good run out against a team the HFH U7's have never played before.
The team did not disappoint with Tom Fallon showing great strength to shrug off numerous players and power his way over for the Hornets. This was quickly followed by Jack Corcoran, Peter and then Tom Fallon and Jack Craig going over again in the first half. Latchford were only able to breach an outstanding defence from the Hornets once!

George Cororan followed his first try with a second showing real heart to keep pushing forward and rightly deserving his "Coaches Award'.
The Hornets defence was brilliant and commented on by the Latchford coaches as being "outstanding" with 'Top Tackler', Tom Hussey, completing over 10 tackles after coming on in the second half.
